SOCCER HERE WE COME

Tomorrow is going to be Bishop's first soccer game/practice. We did end up signing him up for soccer and he starts tomorrow morning. I am so excited to see how it goes. I am kind of nervous for him because he will be one of the youngest kids on his team, but I also know that he is very excited and ready to play. The other night Ray and I played soccer with him at home and he was kicking the ball like a natural....now we will have to see what he does when there are other kids around and see if he clams up when there is pressure! I know I know...you say ... hello he is only 3...but I guess I think because I am a coach and very competitive that I want my son to be a great athlete....and if not that's okay!

Needless to say, I am very excited for tomorrow as well! I will make sure to take lots of pictures (which reminds me I need to plug in my battery) and try to post some so you can see BGO in action!

Pumpkin Patch 10/18/08

So, Saturday morning Ray, Bishop, and I went to the pumpkin patch with my cousin Mario, his wife Kristie and their kids Dante and Ana! It was pretty fun and it is the second year in a row that we went. So, here is a pic of Dante and Bishop in front of the watch me grow tree.....I am going to try to go back and find the ones from last year so that I can add it so it shows just how much Bishop has grown!

We had a fun weekend and Sunday went to Ray's football game and while Ray played football I walked around the track at Civic field. Mario plays on Ray's team so Kristie walked with me and Dante and Bishop played on the sidelines. My BFF Kena showed up with Anthony and Adrik so all the kids played while us mom's got to hang out and talk for a while. What would I do with out my girl?

Another school year begins! August 26th 2008

Well, I realized it has been quite some time since I've written anything here. I don't have much time, but I decided I would write a little something. I am coaching volleyball again here at MVHS. We have practice in a half hour. Bishop's birthday party is being planned. I can't believe that he is going to be 3 years old. It is so crazy how time flies! He is such a smart, handsome, kind, funny little guy! We are going to try getting him in preschool this year and also start soccer! I know I know....I really don't care for soccer to much, but it is the first sport he can start and I want him to learn about teamwork and all so we will be signing him up soon! I do have to get going cause I have to run over to the gym and get ready for practice. Hope everyone has a great day!

Daddy's birthday 6/26/2008

I hope to never see Bishop in a car like this again! Ray's birthday and my Tio Mario's birthday. We had a bbq over at mom and dad's house. My younger cousin is a Ferndale policeman....so we got Bishop and Roland in the car and made them sit there to take a pic. Of course they thought it was really cool because it was a police car!

Bishop and Tata in the RED CAR!!!

Here they are!!! Bishop and Tata in the red car! Bishop loves the red car because it is red just like Lightning McQueen! Tata and Bishop love to listen to their Mexican music in the car and dance and sing...it is always fun to go over to pick him up and he is outside with his Tata!

Bellingham softball tourney

Softball, softball, softball. That is what our summers consist of....and to be honest I wouldn't change it for nothing!

Bryce and Bishop on Bryce's skateboard! Bishop thinks his cousin Bryce is just so "awesome"...those are Bishop's own words!

Bianca being a "mommy" to her little cousin Bishop! Notice daddy and Tio Neto in the background watching as Bianca brings Bishop over to me!

More Quince pics

Bishop loves his Nana and Tata! You can see here that he is giving his Tata a hug.
The other pic is of Tata, Nana, Bianca, and Bishop. They are all out there dancing together. Bishop got really jealous when Nana and Tata wanted to dance together so he made them take him out there and Bianca joined them also. We did get Kai out there for a little while...he is slowly coming out of his shell!

Maria's Quincenera

After a long day at the softball fields I drove back up to Bellingham with Bishop and Kai so that we could go to Maria's Quince. We met mom, dad, and Neto there and dad came later when he got done with softball.
So, here is a pic of Bishop and Maria. Bishop is such a lady's man.... I have no idea where he gets it????!!!!!

Life father like son

This was at one of Ray's softball tournaments down in Meadowdale. I was giving him his nap and put him in the stroller to walk around with him. Although every weekend during the summer is full with softball we still try to keep our scheduled nap times, cause a schedule is what works best for our family!
If you look closely at this picture you will see where Bishop has decided to put his hand! It was a few months ago that he started doing this when he was going to sleep. I think that Freud may have some truth to his theories! I know that when Bishop gets older this will be a picture that I will be able to show him and he will laugh and his friends will laugh and I will share with him the stories of his childhood.

Celebrating the life of Hilda Fritz

Hilda was my 2nd cousin on my moms side of the family. I have a few memories of her and was saddened by her passing. I remember Hilda always willing to share her dolls with me...although she was a bit older than me I would visit my tia and tio and they would allow me to play with her dolls! I also rememer being at her wedding when she and Kenny got married and how beautiful and happy she appeared! So, there was not a second that went by before deciding to attend her Celebration of Life event in Seattle. I was one of many family members that drove to Seattle to be a part of this occasion.
It was both sad, but mostly happy to hear all of the wonderful things about Hilda from her family, friends, and coworkers.
This is a picture of Bishop with Lela (Hilda's neice & my 3rd cousin)! All 3 of the Martinez girls are beautiful, but for some reason Bishop really loved Lela! I think it shows with the gigantic smile on his face! I notice the dimples they both have..and have to say to myself that good looks run in the family!!!!! hehe!!!!
Hilda, I love you, and will never forget you...and may you rest in peace!

Busy Saturday

So...this morning was our first soccer game with my future step-son Kai. We drove down to Mt. Vernon this morning to watch Kai play soccer..it was so fun. Bishop of course was upset that he didn't get to play soccer, he is so excited about playing sports. After Kai's game we drove back to Bham to watch Bianca's basketball game at the Boys and Girls Club...she ended up getting a bloody nose, but I was very impressed the girl has got the athletic ability that I feel my family has! Afterwards we headed to brunch with mom, dad, Jr, Kristen, Bryce, Bianca, and of course my family...Ray, Bishop, Kai, and myself....after a long morning it was time to head home to give the boys a nap...and what better way to avoid the dishes and laundry but to take a nap with them! That is exactly what I did!!!

When we woke up we went to Bryce's basketball game and then came home. It was then that I figured the dishes wouldn't clean themselves and neither would the laundry...so up I got to clean the house. Ray had the boys entertained so I was able to clean the kitchen...and Ray helped with the laundry.

I made a casserole for dinner and fed the family and myself then called Tia Alma who I hadn't talked to in a few days and wanted to check on her to see how she was doing. I told her how much Bishop cracks me up....today he said to me while we were eating dinner....."mom, I am not very happy with you right now and I am going to have to take your toys away". I asked him why and he didn't feel the need to give me an answer....not even 30 seconds later....he looked at me and said, "okay mommy....I am happy now"...and had a huge smile on his face. He is the funniest kid I've ever met...he has this personality that is absolutely amazing and when anyone talks to him they just smile and can't seem to get enough of him! He is a real character.

Well, I will try to get some pictures up soon so you all can see some pics of my family.

I am headed to bed soon because we are going over to Nana and Tata's house in the morning for Menudo.....yum yum.....I am going to have Bishop try it...he had some of the corn when he was little but it is time to introduce him to my favorite Mexican meal!!!! I Can't wait, I will have the camera ready!!!

I'm just starting

So...I am not quite sure how this works, but I am going to give it a try. I want to have something to share with my family and friends that shows that even though I might not get a chance to be with them as often as I'd like I do have a life....It might be busy, but it sure is satisfying.

So, give me a break as I try this new blogging thing and I will try my best to keep it updated and get pictures posted as soon as I can figure out how to do it!
